2021-2025

This Plan of service is derived from data obtained through online needs assessments and digital surveys conducted within the Rimbey and area community in June and July 2020. Analysis of this data revealed four core values held by residents and community organizations served by the Rimbey Community Library.

  • Service Response: Provide Easy Access to Library Materials.

    Provide digital access training to staff; involve teens in the selection of teen materials; poll community residents and school educators for reading preferences; create Digital & Print Marketing Strategy targeted at increasing Library utilization; encourage and analyze patron/community input and usage to guide purchasing; assign computerized genres to entire library collection thereby guiding future acquisitions.

  • Service Response: Plan Space Expansion to Adhere to Provincial Library Standards and to Accommodate Existing Library Services & Programs

    Produce and implement expansion and fundraising plans to develop critical additional space requirement; complete construction of 6000 square foot expansion in adherence to all pertinent codes and regulations; adjust hours of operation to accommodate evening users; create and maintain accessible and timely website; create and manage an effective and timely social media platform to inform community residents and organizations.

  • Service Response: Provide Resources That Reflect the Demographic Interests Within the Community, Including Resources Targeting Adults, Teens, & Children

    Provide skill, interest, and age targeted programs, including: teen life-skills programs, college preparatory programs, early childhood (0-6 yrs) programming and school age childhood (7-10 yrs) programs and entertainment.

  • Service Response: Provide Resources Relevant to Diversity in Race, Ethnicity, Religion, Gender, and Sexual Orientations

    Expand the library collection to include diverse authors and narratives; provide programming reflective of diversity, including visible minorities; provide anti-oppression and anti-racism resources and programming.
